End Polio Now Movie Night at Kinema - Movie is 'Practical Magic 2' starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman

The End Polio Now campaign is a global initiative led by Rotary International alongside key partners the World Health Organisation and UNICEF to completely eradicate polio worldwide. Cases have dropped by over 99% since 1988 and wild poliovirus remains endemic in only two countries Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Kinema Movie night will raise funds to contribute to this campaign. Tickets $22 – includes a snack pack and drink from 6.30pm. All donations gratefully received. |

|
RYPEN is a program for Year 9 and 10 students that has been running in our District for many years. It aims to give young people self confidence and self-esteem and to enhance a belief in their abilities and talents. It is not about rewarding the super confident or those who already have leadership skills. Equally, it is not for young people with behaviour problems or other serious issues.
 RYPEN targets students who are often overlooked for leadership or other programs which focus on personal development. Schools (principals, year advisors, school counsellors) are asked to select students they think have potential but just don’t know it themselves.During an intensive residential weekend, young people aged approximately 14 to 16 years will develop increased motivation, improved life skills, better self-image, pride in themselves and an understanding of setting and achieving goals. At the same time, participants are interacting with peers from different backgrounds, and different parts of our district, improving their teamwork skills and having fun!! All this done in an informal atmosphere, where questions and debates are encouraged.
