The Week that Was
Last Thursday’s meeting at Club Narooma was a ‘feel-good” event. First there was the induction of our second Corporate Member Club Narooma with primary member Club CEO Brendan Matters, plus a donation for the upcoming Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) from the Commonwealth Bank Narooma Branch, our other Corporate Member.
Narooma Rotary President Julie Hartley said Club Narooma’s secondary members Maree Bomage and Kim Harris will be inducted in the future at a time that suits them.
Narooma Rotary Director Françoise Cleret said the Commonwealth Bank’s donation of $800.00 for the DGR’s Narooma Ride will assist with the costs of bringing several health professionals to Narooma to talk about men’s mental health and prostate cancer that weekend as well as marketing.
The evening was topped off by celebrating Rotarian Lesley Heath’s birthday.
This Thursday 16 April
It’s our Narooma Rotary Business Networking Breakfast when we will hear about the upcoming festivals – Australia’s iconic Oyster Festival, right here in Narooma, and the Fungi Feastival.

Annette Kennewell will talk about the month-long Fungi Feastival and its many activities happening from Batemans Bay to Eden from mid-June to mid-July.
Bookings are essential for our Business Breakfasts start which start at 7am sharp at Narooma Surf Club (upstairs – finishing at 8).
Out and About
Easter Saturday’s Moruya Charity Races raised funds for the Carers’ Accommodation at the Eurobodalla Regional Hospital (CAERH), now under construction. CAERH is a community project led by Eurobodalla Rotary Clubs. Both Batemans Bay and Moruya Club s take a leading role in these races, in association with Moruya Jockey Club. This year Moruya Rotary held an Easter raffle at the races, as well as running the canteen at the races; it’s the Club’s major fundraiser. For a few years, our Club collected money from race-goers as they arrived to park; that alone used to raise many hundreds of dollars.
